What is the One-Of-Many-Media project?

Started in October 2010, by James Cawson, the One-Of-Many-Media project is an online collaborative experiment to see if a collection of innumerable loosely connected global collaborators can work together to make a full length feature film about social media. This project will open up every stage of the creation of the film, from writing the script, to filming and editing. Even choosing where it is shown. As well as attempting to use social media tools to produce the film, the film will be a multicoloured conversation about social media, technology and it's impact on our global society.

Who are the collaborators?

Anyone! If you have access to the internet then you can be a part. Right now the script is being built here.

What are the outcomes of the project?

  • To create a film that documents where we are now and to spread this as far and wide as possible.
  • To test the idea that socially-mediated technology has a democratising value to society.
  • To raise questions about our developing on-line culture and it's political, social and economical consequences.

How do I get involved?

There are several Wiki-spaces up and running where anyone can contribute ideas into the project. Contact me at: jcawson (at) gmail (dot) com
